A tragic incident unfolded in Kishanganj district as a gas cylinder explosion led to the painful demise of a 30-year-old woman and her three children on Wednesday morning. The explosion, which occurred in the Povakhali area around 7 pm on Tuesday evening, also left two other children injured. Identified as Shahiba and her children Aneesh (5), Anesha (4), and Aarushi (8), the victims were rushed to Purnia Medical College and Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries during treatment. District officials have launched an investigation into the incident to ascertain the cause of the blast.
District Magistrate Tushar Singla has initiated an inquiry into the matter, with senior officials dispatched to the site for further investigation. Authorities intend to contact the company responsible for the LPG cylinder to delve into safety aspects concerning the incident. Singla noted a recent surge in LPG cylinder explosions in the district, emphasizing the administration's commitment to extending all possible assistance to the bereaved family in accordance with the law. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conveyed his heartfelt condolences, labeling the incident as deeply distressing and directing adequate medical care for the injured individuals, expressing hopes for their swift recovery.
